Wolf at the Door

Branding for Wolf at the Door, a studio located in Venice, CA who create original music, podcasts, and sound design. They are an award winning studio with the motto—make rad shit with rad people—deserves a rad brand.

The Logo

The identity was created with a letter centerpiece and a sharp diamond emblem containing a sound wave that also appears much like a wolf bite. We wanted something that would be a strong mark that would be quickly recognizable and the meaning easily digested. It’s quirky, fun, both masculine and feminine, and ready to be stamped right into their hardware.

The full brand has a heavy minimalist vibe filled with tons of twists and jokes. Wolf at the Door does everything but take themselves seriously, so we wanted to show off their sense of humor.

With the tagline “ it's all go ing very well noproblems at all. .” as a theme—small missteps, incorrect spellings, a designer's nightmare of too many spaces and sometimes not enough—became something to play with. We used the white space to awkwardly place the graphics and text, slightly disconcerting without outwardly revealing the problem.
